Bezares is a project built upon an already established aesthetic sensibility. The client, an artist and collector, brought a collection to the studio that needed a home. The task was to create an environment where the art could breathe, daily life could flow, and the apartment’s two floors would feel like a single cohesive space. The social space on the second floor is the heart of the project. Spacious, with high ceilings and light that enhances the materials, it serves as the natural setting for the collection. The art pieces in the dining room, created by the dweller herself, reinforce a sober and refined aesthetic.

Mariana Morales embraced the role this type of project demands, more as a facilitator than a designer. She listened to the collection, understood how the family interacts with their objects and art, and used that insight to create an environment that would enhance that relationship without interfering with it. The light, sand-toned wood, stone, and textiles in deep neutrals become a finely crafted canvas upon which the pieces project their character.
